How to Give a Hug (Luca-Style)

Step 1: identify your target
Step 2: initiate contact

Step 3: grip firmly and lean in
Step 4: trap target in arms
Step 5: tip head to side and increase momentum
Step 6: tighten hold and brace for impact
Step 7: roll to one side, sigh loudly
Step 8: ensure the "Hugged" is appreciative
Congratulations! You've accomplished your first Luca-Hug!
(special thanks to contributor, Isaiah Robert)

Happy Birthday Princess Bean!

Luca Florence “Bean” Reinhard turned one year old on August 24th (yep, I am THAT far behind). She celebrated with family at her new home in Lincoln, Nebraska. A nap, dinner, presents and the all important flaming dessert (a cheesecake topped brownie with a pink candle) rounded out the afternoon. The most exciting things in her opinion were Isaiah & Miya, the cheesecake and the tissue paper.

We cannot believe how quickly this year has gone and how much we love this little girl. Thank you Lord for this precious gift!

The Connoisseur

(I've added this picture twice and both times it's switched back to vertical..Argh. Anyway...look sideways!)
This is ONE oreo. ONE.

Vampire Baby? Nope, just enjoying a berry crepe

Pizza....oh, yeah.....

Spaghetti is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Baby loves her some sweet corn!

Good little Nebraska Girl!

(And, although it appears that my baby eats only processed sugared foods, she doesn’t. However, her other favorites; beans, mandarin oranges, bananas, peanut butter and jelly, pancakes, carrots, etc. don’t make for cute messes!)

Flower Child

I found daisy barrettes and couldn’t resist even though they were ridiculously priced. She has since managed to lose one but we got some pretty cute pictures anyway. Tell me honestly, do you think she might be a bit of a ham?

Okay....So,

An entire month has gone by between postings..for shame! I am going to attempt to get caught up but it’s going to be piecemeal. So, coming soon to this blog (but not necessarily in this order):

Happy Birthday Princess Bean! (One year old. How?)
Moving Day (yep, we bought a house!)
Our New Home (before and after)
Play-Dates (Isaiah and Miya and FUN!)
First Word (Guess what it is…)
So Smart! (videos capturing various acts of genius)
The Connoisseur (we are digging new foods)
Insomnia? I think Not (the many sleeping poses of Luca)
Daddy Love (he has the BEST games!)
Flower Child
Crazy Baby (She really is…)
Free-Standing (she thinks she is SO cool)

I am beginning this project tonight at a coffee shop a couple of miles from our new house. They have free wifi (we’ve decided to keep our expenses at bare bones through the winter which means no internet) and lots of comfy chairs and tables. Joe kicked me out (he saw how long my “internet-to-do-list” was getting) after dinner and is hanging out with Luca and doing bedtime duty. I have my soy chai latte, my camera card uploaded and the game plan. Here we go!
