Meeting Malcolm

In early October we got to meet Malcolm Oberon Till, our sweet new nephew and cousin.

Court and Malcolm
We were initially worried that Court would treat Malcolm with his usual rough exuberance but he was very kind and gentle. Lots of time was spent snuggling and "ooohing" and "aaaahhhhing" over virtually nothing. Babies are so much fun!

Luca got in some ipad time and took advantage of all the extra book-readers available to her.

What happens when Mommy sleepily grabs an outfit out of your suitcase and sends you upstairs to Grandma? You end up wearing your little brother's pants.
 Successful family picture!

Little Boy Doings...

 Eating spaghetti with gusto,
Checking on the power tools without losing track of a gold purse,
Snack time on the porch,
 Helpin' with the decorating,
 Accessorizing and learning to climb,
 And un-accessorized climbing,
Giving Mommy the hint "I'd like to take my nap now please"
Sporting truth-telling shirts,

Catching Up with Bean Girl...

We are really enjoying having a four year old in our house.

She is creative and imaginative: I love how completely she can entertain herself, whether she builds a "house" or "goes shopping" or is "a wolf" or turns the living room into an ocean with cushion "boats", her imagination has no bounds and needs little assistance.
A portrait constructed during "nap" time.
Mommy, Luca and Madi in chalk (She explained that Court was sleeping and so not pictured).
She is expressive: She's started to show an interest in choosing her own clothes and accessories.

Her "sock buns, not sock curls"
On this day she came out of her room completely dressed (usually we gather outfits for her and Court together) in the outfit of her choosing. I love that my preference for solids is nowhere to be found, hard to do given that her wardrobe is only 20% prints. Zebra knee-high socks! She's a fashionista.
She is reflective: I was working out in the yard during nap time and could hear the sound of a little voice singing "Angel of Music" (The Phantom of the Opera Broadway musical is currently her cd of choice) coming from the window. She was so deep into thought she didn't even notice me sneaking around her door to snap this picture. Sitting in the window is also a favorite thing to do.
Keeping me company while I finish projects.
She is funny: She has great one-liners such as "Daddy does not dance beautiful" and "Court is a crazy baby". A budding conversationalist, if you ask her what she did today she'll say "I don't remember", if you ask her how she's doing she'll only say "good", however, if you happen to be in a car with her she'll talk your ear off. And, she's proven again and again that she misses nothing given the sometimes embarrassing questions at inopportune moments.

We love you Luca Bean!
