Sippy Cup!

You know those annoying parents who think everything that their child does is advanced and incredibly smart? Prepare to be annoyed. :)
I can't believe how well Luca does with her sippy cup! At 9 1/2 months, she's got the mechanics down pat. She knows to tip her head back but compensate by leaning forward at the same time so she doesn't tumble over. She can rotate it, if the spout is facing the wrong way, she drinks one handed (a bit of a show-off) and can even get it down off of her high chair all by herself. What a big girl!
(isn't she advanced and incredibly smart?) wink wink. ;)

She's a Mess!

Do they make bibs that come with hoods and goggles? Bean is very adamant about feeding herself but as you can see, its a mess. And this was just mandarin oranges. Hhhmmmm...

Miss Bean & Claire
Luca loves the vents at Yaya's house, she takes the covers off, explores and gets her legs stuck down in the ducts. So far, she hasn't discovered dropping toys down them so we're okay. Can you see her hair blowing? :)

The "Scrawlt"

We call it "scrawlting", it's what she does, a sort of scooter-scoot melded with a true crawl. This video is from about a week ago, today she can (and does!) go much faster but it's still in her unique style.

Little Fashionista

Bean's first trip to H&M where Aunt Shannon helped her choose some shades:

A Playscape

Joe is helping put up a swing set/fort/slide extravaganza for our little friend Jaidyn. Luca and I went along to "help" one day...

Luca & Jaidyn play very well together
Happy as can be to spend the day outside!

Don't fall Daddy!

The Big Move

Day 1:
Fly to Phoenix bright and early, Luca does fantastic on the plane, charming the flight attendants. Tonya and Charlize pick us up at the airport and after some errands we arrive at the house where Tonya and friends have made huge progress in the packing. (Thank you, again!!!!!) Lots more packing and then sleep.

Day 2:
More packing. Air conditioner breaks. More packing. House gets to 92 degrees. More packing. Leave house and head to the Leech’s for dinner.

Day 3:
A/C still broken but over-night house cools off and is comfortable for sleeping. In the morning Brooke & Bean hit the Alpine bread store one last time (great sadness is felt). Luca has 9mo. Dr. appointment, given a two-thumbs-up from Dr. then shouts goodbye to the nurses. (19lbs. 6oz and 29 ½ inches!) Home for more packing. Run a load of laundry, washer floods the kitchen. Joe leaves to run errands and pick up Chris who will drive to Nebraska with Joe. Boys get back, packing is almost done. One more errand to run before Small Group. Car breaks. Finish packing. Chris discovers broken hose on car. Joe and Chris take moving truck to store, buy hose. Fix car. Meet Small Group for pizza and games. Oooh and Aaaah over babies, one last hurrah. Back to 92 degree house to open windows and turn on fans.

Day 4:
Loading the truck! Lots of help (Thank you Small Group, Chris & Jody)! Clean house (again, thank you Small Group!) Say goodbyes. :( Lock up and drive away. Lunch at Famous Dave’s (Luca likes their cornbread). Spend the night with Nick & Chazi, hanging out, Taco Tuesday on a Saturday!

Day 5:
Joe and Chris start the long drive to Nebraska. Brooke & Bean enjoy Chazi time and veg on movies. Say more goodbyes :( Head to church, stop at gas station. Car dies. Saved by Tom & Ann. Hear perfectly timed sermon, fellowship with friends and sing great songs. More goodbyes. :( Crash at Brian & Amberlee’s, great conversations, early morning to airport. Only bottle shatters on floor. Long flight but Luca does great (better than the 4 & 6 year olds in front of us). Land at 11:20. All done!
As you can see, a lot went wrong last week but we survived and even better, were given more reasons to thank God for His provision. What wonderful friends we have! Thank you so much to everyone who packed, hauled, drove, cleaned, prayed, cried, laughed, and just in general, showed us love. We love you!
