Catching Up

A few milestones have been passed since I posted here. Court currently sleeps in the pack-n-play in the library/office and while he used to sleep through anything (power tools, vacuum cleaners, screaming girls, etc) he now wakes up from the slightest noises if they are in the same room as he is. So using the computer when he's sleeping (really the only computer time I get) had to be put on hold. And then I remembered: we have a laptop! So, I'm back.

Milestone #1: The reach and grab. Court had been batting at things for a week or so when I turned around in the kitchen to see this. The utensils were to intriguing to pass up I guess. That was the end of being able to leave things within his wingspan.

Remember to watch a baby's foot-span too or you'll end up with things like this:
Milestone #2: Sitting! I remember when Luca learned to sit, I was always putting a pillow behind her in case she fell which happened often and she went over swift and hard. With Court, no such caution is needed. Not that he doesn't fall backward, he does occasionally but he has insanely strong ab muscles. He tries valiantly to stay up even as he's falling backward which means the whole thing happens in slow motion. Keeps his little head nice and safe. Can you see the concentration?
I can tell he's chomping at the bit to follow the big kids around. *sniff* It won't be long!
Milestone #3: The first haircut. When you're a little boy and after bath time your hair does this:
It's time to cut your hair. Daddy couldn't take it anymore and he'd taken to calling Court "Mr. Trump" so we broke out the scissors and began the terrifying process of cutting a can't-sit-still infant's hair. It actually took about three separate haircuts (two of which were done while he slept) to get the finished product. Look #1: the little sunday-school man...
And what his hair wants to do naturally, look #2:
He's growing up so fast!

Fun!!! I thought he looked so big and handsome Sunday (or as big and handsome as six month olds look!). Glad you're back . . . you do realized you stopped right when I moved don't you?? I was missing my Reinhard fix. ;o)
