Memorial Day Weekend

Joe had to work on Saturday (and Monday) so really our weekend was pretty routine but we did get to go up to Omaha and tour the Junior High School that Joe's been working on for the last two years. It is only a couple of weeks from completion and pretty amazing.

Today:
On one of the "living roofs"
In one of the science labs- a fume hood. Very fancy and very fun.

In the Gym, Joe was telling the kids about the "Robot Chairs" (retractable bleachers) that he had and Luca was really excited but Court was worried. We were surprised because he loves the movie WALL-E and has a beloved robot shirt but the moment we turned them on he started trembling and repeating "Bo-bot all done!"
Here he was looking at the "Bo-bot" and saying goodbye from the safety of a window.

 Hooray!

After lunch with Daddy we headed home by way of the cemetery to put flowers on Grandpa's grave.

 And then we got home.

And they had more fun.
To wrap up our holiday weekend, we caught two garter snakes as they fled the lawnmower.

What a neat looking school--love the living roof! Those are some adorably pudgy toes in sandals and of course the muddy picture is awesome. ;o) I'm always amazed at kids and the snake-love. I can't say I'm scared, but I'm definately okay NOT holding one. ;o)

WOW what a fun slideshow! Mud and snakes = GREAT toys. And great job Joe! I hope you're headed to our house next. I always wanted a science lab fume hood. Would sure come in handy for my kitchen 'experiments.' Looks like it was a good weekend. :)
