Paula Deen

I've taken to watching food network when I feed Court. It's dangerous actually, I've started to be a little more creative (willy-nilly) in the kitchen. One afternoon Luca was sitting with me and we watched some "best-dishes" from Paula Deen. After concentrating on Paula's pound cake demonstration, Luca looked at me and said "I think I would like to make that cake" and I thought, well, why not? (I like that it was the cake Luca thought she should take on, not the braised short ribs or grilled asparagus.)
So we got on the computer, printed the recipe, mixed it up (Luca even cracked the eggs) and licked the bowl. Success!

Luca said the frosting had to be yellow.

Paula Deen's magazine is my current favorite . . . I really enjoy her use of cream and butter. ;o) The cake looks delicious--hope Luca enjoyed it!
