Toy Compositions

Luca has a penchant for collections, lately this has translated into all of her earthly possessions (it seems) being carefully laid out or stacked up into very specific formations. Rows or "lines", "Rapunzel" towers, bridges and "designs", each arrangement is lovingly set up and then zealously guarded. And heaven help the Mommy who by straightening up just the tiniest little bit, may actually ruin artistic perfection.

Although keeping these installations up sometimes cramps our eating room and blocks off walkways, I am actually thrilled that she can entertain herself so completely. And what a fun little imagination!

Sometimes, Court finds himself integrated into the displays...
He bears this patiently...
And usually he is rewarded with something fun...

So, your kids are adorble. ;o) You're making me miss having a little girl around, and a 10 month boy--oh dear!! Jackson was our "liner-up-er." Hopefully that means they will be very organized adults? Keep enjoying, celebrating, and documenting the simple joys every day--it really does go so-so-so fast!!

I think these are what artist's call "installations" ... can't wait to see the art she will create in the future. And to read her "artists' statements".
